About the Winery

Michel Guillard, installed in 1979, runs a very reliable small domaine of 4.8 hectares dedicated solely to the terroirs of Gevrey-Chambertin. The domain has a beautiful heritage of old vines, the first having been planted in 1911 by his grandfather, Auguste Lyonnet, known as Henri. Among the domain's holdings are some truly aristocratic 1ers Crus including Lavaut Saint-Jacques, Poissenots, and Corbeaux, as well as a wealth of high-quality village crus including old vines in the Reniards and Corvées lieux-dits. The wines are ultra-classic, fresh, and ineffably linear. Guillard is a traditionalist who makes wines as he knows they should be made, without regard for passing trends. Remarkably, he has no website and no email, relying on a fax machine. The domain represents some of the best value in Gevrey-Chambertin.

A 4.8-hectare estate in Gevrey-Chambertin since 1979 with old vines from 1911, producing ultra-classic Burgundy wines.
