Château Haut Bernasse

About the Winery

Château Haut Bernasse was created at the end of the 19th century on the summit of the Monbazillac slopes in South West France. The domain was acquired in 1977 by Jacques Blais, who expanded and developed it. Today it covers 14 hectares (including 11 hectares of white vines) grouped around the winery. In 2014, Romain Claveille, a young 28-year-old winemaker trained in natural space management, took over the estate while it was in organic conversion (certified in 2017). He offers two ranges: Les Œnopotes, 'wines for friends' meant to be enjoyed casually, and Arcane, dedicated to more complex cuvées. The estate produces Monbazillac sweet wines as well as dry whites.
