Aurélie Aldhuy
About the Winery
Château Fantou is an old property that the Aldhuy family has been farming for five generations in the commune of Prayssac, in the Cahors appellation. Aurélie Aldhuy has been solely at the head of the family operation since 2015, running it according to certified organic practices since 2012. The latest plantings have brought the vineyard area to 21 hectares, spread between limestone causse and alluvial terraces of the Lot Valley. She and her team handle all vineyard work from pruning to harvest, as well as vinification, barrel aging, and bottling. Visitors are welcomed for tastings of the estate's organic wines: IGP Côtes du Lot white and Rose, and AOP Cahors red, as well as Ratafia. The property features a barrel cellar buried in the vineyard.
“A fifth-generation estate in Prayssac, run by Aurélie Aldhuy with 21 hectares of certified organic vineyards on the Lot Valley terraces.”
