Métairie Grande du Théron
About the Winery
The Métairie Grande du Théron is a Cahors wine estate with buildings in the characteristic yellow stone of the Quercy region, arranged around a large square courtyard. The domain covers 42 hectares of vines planted on the steep slopes of the third terrace overlooking the Lot Valley. The property has been managed by the Sigaud family since 2020, who are also owners of the Métairie Grande du Théron and Château Haute Borie. Known for consistent quality, the estate produces red wines primarily from Malbec (Côt), the signature grape of Cahors. The terroir's gravelly-siliceous soils on the terraces of the Lot River contribute to wines with structure, depth, and excellent aging potential.
“A Cahors estate with 42 hectares on the steep terraces of the Lot Valley, producing quality Malbec wines in traditional Quercy stone buildings.”
