Earl domaine de Baravéou
About the Winery
Created in 2011, Domaine de Baravéou is located between La Cadière-d'Azur and Le Castellet in Provence. Jean-Philippe Fourney, born in Burgundy, cultivates 5 hectares of vines with 4 hectares in AOP Bandol on restanques (terraced vineyards). The vines have always been worked organically and certified, with autumn and spring ploughing done using animal traction. The estate produces a red and a Rose cuvée, with Mourvèdre representing 90% of the plantings along with Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah. The terroir is clay-limestone Trias at La Cadière and limestone marl at Le Castellet. The wines are known for their silky tannins and digestibility in youth with aging potential.
“A certified organic 5-hectare Bandol estate created in 2011 by Jean-Philippe Fourney, with 90% Mourvèdre and animal traction ploughing.”
