About the Winery

The Muré family is a highly regarded name in Alsace wine, with roots in the Rouffach area dating back to 1650. The jewel of the estate is the Clos Saint-Landelin, a 12-hectare monopoly acquired in 1935 and cultivated by the family since then. This walled vineyard was planted by monks as early as the High Middle Ages and sits at the southern end of the Grand Cru Vorbourg, cultivated in terraces. René Muré, who managed the estate since 1976, converted it to biodynamics in 1999 and passed it on to his children Véronique and Thomas. The estate now covers 25 hectares and produces a full range of Alsace wines including Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Muscat, Pinot Noir, and Crémant d'Alsace, all from biodynamically farmed vineyards.
