Château de Fayolle

About the Winery

Château de Fayolle is a medieval château built in the 1480s by Jean Joubert de Fayolle, situated in Saussignac, southwest of Bergerac. The estate includes a private 16th-century chapel and a half-timbered dovecote on columns, set within a 50-hectare property including vineyards, meadows, and woods. The vineyard sits on a well-drained limestone-clay plateau overlooking the Dordogne River, planted with traditional Bordeaux varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc for reds; Sémillon and Sauvignon for dry whites and sweet Saussignac. The estate has a strict policy of not using herbicides. Since 2019, American businessman Frank Campbell and his wife Riki have owned the estate, engaging in organic conversion and developing a wine tourism center with tasting room, shop, and café with terrace.
