About the Winery

Champagne Éric Rodez is a family-owned estate in the Grand Cru village of Ambonnay, with a lineage tracing back to 1757. Managed by Éric Rodez since 1984, after gaining experience at Champagne Krug, the estate emphasizes traditional and sustainable viticultural practices. The family has been producing their own Champagne for generations, with records showing production as early as 1757. Éric's son Mickaël represents the 9th generation and now manages the vineyards. The estate's 6.12 hectares are planted with 62% Pinot Noir and 38% Chardonnay across 35 distinct parcels at approximately 130 meters altitude. About 70-80% of the wines are fermented and aged in oak barrels, with malolactic fermentation selectively blocked to retain acidity. The estate practices organic and biodynamic farming, having received the Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) certificate in 2012. Éric Rodez also served as mayor of Ambonnay from 2008 to 2014.
