Domaine Durrmann

11, rue des Forgerons, 67140 Andlau, France

About the Winery

The Durrmann family has been producing organic wines from their ancestral home in Andlau, Alsace since 1979. André Durrmann converted the estate to organic farming in 1998, and today his son Yann Durrmann leads the domaine with a natural, minimal-intervention approach. The estate farms approximately 9-10 hectares spread across about 30 different plots around the village, including parcels on three Grand Cru sites: Wiebelsberg (pink sandstone), Kastelberg (dense schist/hornfels), and Andlau. Their philosophy centers on agro-ecology, viewing the farm as an ecosystem with vines, fruit trees, and sheep coexisting. Yann took over in 2007 and has pushed the wines toward an even more hands-off approach, producing cuvées without sulfur additions. The estate is known for its electric cars and solar energy use, embodying a true commitment to environmental stewardship.

A family estate in Andlau, Alsace since 1979, certified organic since 1998, known for minimal-intervention wines from Grand Cru vineyards.
