Domaine de la Pirolette
About the Winery
Domaine de la Pirolette dates back to 1600 and is a 15-hectare estate planted in Saint-Amour, the northernmost cru of Beaujolais. The name derives from 'pirole,' a perennial plant with white flowers believed to have diuretic properties. For centuries, successive owners have preferred to grow vines on this land. Since 2013, the estate has been owned by the Barbet family (Grégory and his sisters), who are well-known in Beaujolais through their connections with Maison Loron. The estate produces wines from the Saint-Amour appellation on granite soils typical of the region, crafting elegant wines from Gamay grapes.
