About the Winery

SAS Vignobles Allard acquired the historic Château Sigognac in the Médoc in 2009. The property dates back more than five centuries, built on the ruins of a Roman 'Villa Ausone'. Château Sigognac was first listed as Cru Bourgeois du Médoc in 1932. The estate comprises 47 hectares of vineyard and 50 hectares of woodland, with an average vine age of 40-50 years. Since 2020, the vineyard has been in conversion to organic farming, with certification expected in 2023. Under the direction of Louis Allard, the estate produces classic Médoc wines including the flagship Château Sigognac Cru Bourgeois (180,000 bottles), the second wine Benjamin de Sigognac, a white Blanc de l'Estuaire, and a Rose. The estate also produces the premium cuvée L'Enclos de Sigognac from 80-year-old vines.
