Domaine Orenga de Gaffory
About the Winery
In 1966, when the Patrimonio appellation was not yet recognized, Pierre Orenga de Gaffory created his estate. Today, it is a vast estate of 53 hectares, spread across different terroirs and five of the seven communes of the appellation. Since 1974, Henri, son of Pierre, has been at the helm, also directing a second estate, Clos San Quilico. The estate has been certified organic since 2019. Antoine and Santos (two of Henri's children) have also joined the domain. The property produces wines from native Corsican grape varieties including Niellucciu (the island's form of Sangiovese) for reds and Vermentinu for whites, as well as Muscat du Cap Corse sweet wines. The estate has become one of the reference points for quality Corsican wine.
“A 53-hectare estate in Patrimonio, Corsica, certified organic since 2019, producing wines from native Niellucciu and Vermentinu grapes.”
