Domaine le Petit Cousinaud

About the Winery
A 27-hectare estate taken over in 2012 by Geoffrey Valentin, who was new to viticulture but trained for a year by the previous owner. The young winemaker produces Cognac, Pineau-des-Charentes, and IGP Charentais wines. The domaine is one of the last ten to practice distillation over a wood fire, an ancient and traditional method that requires the winemaker's presence day and night. The sandy-silt soils with flint outcrops favor marked terroir expressions.
“A 27-hectare estate producing Cognac, Pineau-des-Charentes and Charentais wines with traditional wood-fire distillation.”
