About the Winery

Jean-Michel Cazes, owner of Château Lynch-Bages in Pauillac, purchased this estate in 2002 after years of searching the Languedoc region. He selected La Livinière, the birthplace of the finest Minervois vineyards, combining two neighboring estates to create a single winery with 60 hectares of vineyards and 25 hectares of olive groves. The name 'l'ostal' means both 'house' and 'family group' in the ancient Occitan language. The estate produces Minervois La Livinière Grand Vin, Minervois Estibals, and IGP Pays d'Oc wines, with an emphasis on Syrah, Carignan, Grenache and Mourvèdre.
