About the Winery
The Gautier family has been present on this estate for seven generations, with cellars dating from the 14th century and a 19th-century chai. Jean-Michel Gautier manages 17 hectares producing wines in the Vouvray appellation, including the famous Clos la Lanterne overlooking the Loire River. The estate produces classic Vouvray wines from Chenin Blanc: dry, demi-sec, and moelleux (sweet) wines, as well as sparkling wines. The wines are known for their exceptional aging potential and expression of the tuffeau limestone terroir.
“Seven generations of winemaking in Vouvray with 14th-century cellars, producing Chenin Blanc wines from 17 hectares.”
