Château de Chamirey
About the Winery
Château de Chamirey is an iconic estate in Mercurey, Burgundy, with a château dating back to the early 18th century. Acquired by the Marquis de Jouennes in 1932, estate bottling began in 1934. His son-in-law Bertrand Devillard expanded the holdings to their current 37 hectares, of which 8.5 hectares are Premier Cru including 3.3 hectares of monopole vineyards. Today, Amaury and Aurore Devillard, grandchildren of the Marquis, manage the estate. The property also serves as a bottling facility for other Devillard family estates. The wines of Mercurey are known for their elegance and aging potential, with the reds from Pinot Noir showing great finesse.
