Scea Albà
4 Lieu dit Grimon, 33350 Saint-Philippe-d'Aiguilhe, France
About the Winery
Château Albà was created in 2003 by P. Meyrignac, an oenologist and former director of Château d'Aiguilhe. The estate covers 6.8 hectares (now 7.5 hectares) of old vines planted on red clay soils rich in iron over a limestone subsoil. The vineyard is in conversion to organic farming. The wine is a blend of 70% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon, vinified in temperature-controlled concrete vats. The estate also produces a second wine called Cuvée Bois de Madame (Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux) and a Rose called La Rose d'Albà.
“A Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux estate created in 2003 on red clay and limestone soils, in conversion to organic.”
