Domaine Berrod
About the Winery
Founded in 1954 by René Berrod, the domain was taken over in 1980 by his children. The GFA Domaine Berrod was created as a land group to preserve the family wine property through succession. A member of the Vignerons Indépendants network, the estate harvests, vinifies, ages, and markets its wines, which are bottled at the domain and sold directly as well as shipped throughout France and abroad. The domain practices sustainable viticulture, respecting the vines with traditional vinification and entirely manual harvesting. The estate covers approximately 22-26 hectares and produces primarily Fleurie wines, along with Moulin-à-Vent. The Fleurie vineyards are situated on sunny southwest-facing slopes with vines averaging 40-50 years of age.
“A family estate in Fleurie since 1954, practicing sustainable viticulture with entirely manual harvesting on southwest-facing granite slopes.”
