Sc du domaine de la Romanée-Conti (richebourg)
About the Winery
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is the most prestigious estate in Burgundy, with origins dating back to the 13th century. The Richebourg vineyard covers 3.51 hectares out of approximately 8 hectares in the appellation. The vines are contiguous (to the northeast) with those of Romanée-Conti, and Richebourg is often credited with the same silky character as its prestigious neighbor. The soil is composed of clay-limestone with a high proportion of clay. The wine is aged in 100% new oak barrels and is produced in extremely limited quantities, making it one of the most sought-after wines in the world. The estate is co-owned by the de Villaine and Leroy families.
“The most prestigious estate in Burgundy, with Richebourg's 3.51 hectares contiguous to the legendary Romanée-Conti vineyard.”
