Jean-laurent de Bernardi

Lieu-dit Santa Maria, 20253 Patrimonio, France

About the Winery

Clos de Bernardi is a historic estate in Patrimonio, Corsica, founded in 1880 by the great-grandfather of Jean-Laurent and Jean-Paul de Bernardi. The domain justifies its name of 'Clos' as it is entirely surrounded by walls, benefiting from a unique microclimate due to the influence of the Gulf of Saint-Florent. The estate enjoys intense solar radiation, cleansing marine breezes, and low rainfall allowing early harvests. Jean-Laurent de Bernardi has been president of the AOP Patrimonio and is a strong advocate for organic viticulture. The estate works organically, cultivating Vermentino, Niellucciu, Muscat petits grains, and Grenache on approximately 10-11 hectares. The wines are of great nobility, perfectly reflecting the particular characteristics of Corsican grape varieties.
