Earl Girardi-Dupoyet
About the Winery
Specializing in Bugey Cerdon wines, this 6-hectare estate is entirely in the Cerdon appellation. The Domaine de la Gumarde has belonged to the Dupoyet family since 1637. The wines are crafted using the Méthode Ancestrale (ancestral method), a semi-sparkling production technique that preserves the natural sugars and fruit aromatics of the grapes. The Gamay grape is vinified using a cold pre-fermentation process that extracts delicate color and fruity flavors. The resulting wines are characterized by their beautiful pink to ruby color, subtle bubbles, and irresistible palate of red fruit and citrus notes, making them perfect for summer sipping and celebrations.
“A historic estate in Cerdon since 1637, crafting traditional Méthode Ancestrale sparkling Rose from Gamay.”
