Château Palmer

Château Palmer, 33460 Cantenac, Bordeaux, France

About the Winery

Château Palmer is a historic 3ème Cru Classé (Third Growth) in the 1855 Bordeaux classification. The estate was created in 1814 by the English general Charles Palmer after he fell in love with a small wine estate belonging to the de Gascq family. In 1843, the Fould family acquired the property and invested in the vineyard. Since 1938, the Sichel and Mähler-Besse families have owned the estate. In 2004, Thomas Duroux became technical director and introduced biodynamic viticulture. Palmer was promoted to Cru Classé in the 2025 reclassification. The 66-hectare vineyard produces wines of legendary elegance and aging potential, with a high proportion of Merlot that gives the wines their characteristic suppleness and aromatic complexity.

A legendary 3ème Cru Classé of 66 hectares in Margaux, practicing biodynamic viticulture since 2004 under Thomas Duroux.
