Patrick Carteyron

Château Penin, 33750 Génissac, Bordeaux, France

About the Winery

Patrick Carteyron is well known for his vineyard located across the Dordogne River in Génissac and for his Château Penin wines. He acquired a 2.5-hectare vineyard at the foot of the Saint-Pey d'Armens hillside, east of Saint-Émilion, in 2011, creating his own winery, cellar, and reception room. The family estate was founded in 1855 and began bottling in 1964. Patrick's sons Antoine and Etienne of the sixth generation now lead the vines and winery, committed to organic farming. The estate produces Bordeaux wines including a classic Clairet (light red), Blanc, and Cabernet Franc. The property includes Château La Fleur Penin in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, acquired in 2011.

A sixth-generation family estate since 1855, producing organic Bordeaux wines and Saint-Émilion Grand Cru.
