About the Winery

Château Sigalas-Rabaud was constituted in the 17th century by a family of magistrates at the parliament of Bordeaux. The château was acquired by Henri Sigalas in 1863, becoming Sigalas-Rabaud. In 1903, his son Pierre sold 30 hectares to the Promis family to keep only the best 14 hectares on a gravel hillock on clay, the jewel of the terroir. The history was then eventful (leasing, regroupings, divisions) until the family lands were taken over in 1951 by Marie-Antoinette de Lambert des Granges, née Sigalas. Today, her granddaughter Laure de Lambert Compeyrot manages the estate, which produces Sauternes wines of exceptional quality from Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes affected by noble rot.

A 14-hectare Sauternes estate with a history dating to the 17th century, now led by Laure de Lambert Compeyrot.
