Domaine du Cellier aux Moines

Givry, Burgundy, France

About the Winery

Founded in 1130 by Cistercian monks, this domain is one of Burgundy's oldest, classified as a Historic Monument. It was acquired and restored starting in 2004 by Philippe Pascal, former executive at LVMH, along with his wife Catherine and their three children. A gravity-flow winery was inaugurated in 2015 with winemaking by Guillaume Marko. The 9-hectare vineyard, in organic conversion since 2016 and biodynamic since 2017, includes 4.7 hectares of Pinot Noir from the Clos du Cellier aux Moines, one of Givry's historic premier crus, along with Chardonnay in Côte de Beaune and Montagny. The estate produces elegant, precise Burgundy wines that reflect the monastic heritage of the site.

One of Burgundy's oldest estates, founded by Cistercian monks in 1130, now producing organic and biodynamic wines from the historic Clos du Cellier aux Moines.
