La Guertinière, 44330 Vallet, Loire Valley, France

About the Winery

The fourth generation is now running this domain created in 1930 on the hilly terrain of Vallet, at the heart of the Muscadet-Sèvre-et-Maine appellation. The rocky nature of the schist soils explains the name 'Chaillou' (from the word for pebbles). Across 30 hectares, Raphaël and Bertrand Allard produce primarily Sèvre-et-Maine wines and IGP varietal wines. The family has been instrumental in developing the Cru Vallet communal appellation, producing wines from old vines aged on lees that express the unique schist terroir of the region. Their Muscadet wines are known for their finesse, minerality, and aging potential.

A fourth-generation family estate since 1930 in the heart of Muscadet-Sèvre-et-Maine, crafting wines from schist soils.
