Château de la Gardine

Route de Roquemaure, 84230 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, France

About the Winery

Wine merchant Gaston Brunel, heir to a long winemaking tradition (17th century), acquired La Gardine in 1945. His sons Patrick and Maxime, and grandchildren Marie-Odile and Philippe, continue to develop this renowned estate of approximately 50 hectares. In 2007, the family created a négociant business under the name Brunel de la Gardine. The estate produces four red Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines and two white wines, using primarily Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Muscardin for reds, and Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Roussanne, and Bourboulenc for whites. The estate is known for its distinctive bottle shape, the Gardine bottle, created by the family in 1964.

A historic Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate since 1945, crafting wines from 50 hectares and famous for its unique Gardine bottle.
