Castellu di Baricci
About the Winery
Established in the Ortolo Valley in southern Corsica, the Quilichini family has been cultivating vines since the early 19th century. Since 2000, they have revived this estate of over 150 hectares, planting vines (15 hectares today) and olive trees (12 hectares) to produce wines and oils of appellation quality. In 2010, Élisabeth Quilichini took over the estate and initiated organic conversion, achieving Ecocert certification in 2013. The estate produces Corse Sartène AOP wines in three colors, focusing on indigenous varieties including Niellucciu, Sciaccarellu, and Vermentinu. The wines are crafted with minimal intervention to express the purest character of the granite and schist terroir.
“A 150-hectare estate in the Ortolo Valley, producing organic Corse Sartène wines from indigenous varieties since 2000.”
