Les vignerons d' Aghione
About the Winery
Founded in 1975, the Cave d'Aghione is Corsica's second-largest cooperative structure, vinifying the production of approximately 950 hectares of vines from around a dozen member winegrowers on the island's eastern plain. In 2017, a new bottling line was installed for both still and sparkling wines. The cooperative produces wines under the Vin de Corse and IGP Ile de Beauté appellations, using classic Corsican grape varieties including Niellucciu, Sciaccarellu, Vermentino, and Muscat. André Casanova, president until 2021, gave his name to the main brand marketed by the cooperative: Domaine Casanova. The cooperative's new identity reflects its commitment to innovation with the tagline 'Le terroir corse audacieux' (The bold Corsican terroir).
