About the Winery
Since 1679, vines have been present at Château Gréa. Since 1995, the estate has been managed by Nicolas Caire and Alexandre Rousselot, who oversee 23 hectares in the southern Revermont area of the Jura wine region. The vineyard dominates the Bresse plain, famous for its chickens that pair so well with Vin Jaune. The Jura is one of France's most distinctive wine regions, known for unique styles like Vin Jaune (yellow wine aged under a veil of yeast), Vin de Paille (straw wine), and traditional oxidative wines. Château Gréa produces wines from the region's characteristic grape varieties including Savagnin, Chardonnay, Poulsard, Trousseau, and Pinot Noir, reflecting the unique terroir of the Jura's limestone marl soils.
