About the Winery
Domaine de Frégate proudly proclaims 'Between sea and stones,' reflecting its unique position in the same family since 1882. Its name derives from the old Provençal 'fragato' (broken), referring to the stone-clearing work necessary to plant vines. The Mediterranean Sea is omnipresent here, bordering the property whose vineyard covers 30 hectares, straddling Saint-Cyr and Bandol. The estate produces wines in the Bandol AOP, one of Provence's most prestigious appellations, known for powerful, age-worthy reds from Mourvèdre and aromatic Roses. The sea breezes provide freshness to the wines, while the stony soils contribute minerality and complexity.
“A family estate since 1882 between sea and stones, producing Bandol wines on 30 hectares where the Mediterranean provides constant freshness.”
