About the Winery
Château Rousselle is a historic property near the Gironde estuary, originally acquired in 1636 by a knight and counselor to the king, and listed as a '1er Cru Bourgeois' in the 1868 Féret guide. The estate's soberly elegant manor house commands 23 hectares of vines in Côtes-de-Bourg (Château Rousselle) and 2.5 hectares in Blaye (Château Haut-Vigneau), acquired in 1999 by Vincent Lemaitre. The vineyard is predominantly planted with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon for long aging and Malbec for originality. The property was modernized by Vincent Lemaitre, who offers several cuvées including Tradition, Prestige, and Emotion, along with innovative labels like 'Soif de Vincent.'
“A historic '1er Cru Bourgeois' estate from 1636 near the Gironde estuary, crafting Côtes-de-Bourg wines led by Vincent Lemaitre since 1999.”
