Château Fombrauge

Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux, France

About the Winery

Château Fombrauge traces its origins to the 15th century and the lords of Fombrauge. This vast 58-hectare estate is one of the most imposing properties in Saint-Émilion. Since 1999, it has been owned by Bernard Magrez, a key figure in the Bordeaux wine world. The 2012 classification elevated Château Fombrauge to Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé status. The wines are crafted primarily from Merlot (typically 90-94%) with Cabernet Franc, and aged in French oak barrels. The estate combines the historic grandeur of its château with modern winemaking techniques under Magrez's direction, producing wines that balance richness, elegance, and the capacity to age gracefully for decades.

A 15th-century estate and one of Saint-Émilion's largest properties, classified Grand Cru Classé in 2012 under Bernard Magrez.
