Château Carteau Côtes Daugay
Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux, France
About the Winery
The Bertrand family, now headed by Jacques Bertrand and his children, has been established in Saint-Émilion for five generations. They operate two Saint-Émilion Grand Cru properties: Château Carteau Côtes Daugay, a 16-hectare estate on the Tertre Daugay at the foot of Saint-Émilion's southwestern slope, and Château Franc Pipeau, a 6.5-hectare property at the base of the slope in Saint-Hippolyte. These crus are representative of the Saint-Émilion wine landscape where family-owned estates remain predominant. The wines are crafted primarily from Merlot with Cabernet Franc, reflecting the classic Saint-Émilion style.
“Five generations of the Bertrand family crafting Saint-Émilion Grand Cru wines across two historic properties.”
