Mas de la Seranne
About the Winery
Founded in 1998 by Isabelle and Jean-Pierre Venture, Mas de la Seranne is located in Aniane in the heart of the Terrasses du Larzac appellation, approximately 30 km northwest of Montpellier. Starting with just 5 hectares, the estate has grown to 16 hectares of vineyards. The Venture couple, deeply attached to their region and nature, undertook conversion to organic farming and obtained AB certification in 2012. Jean-Pierre Venture has been actively involved as President of the Terrasses du Larzac appellation, which was officially recognized as AOC on June 27, 2014. The vineyards are planted with Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Carignan, and Cinsault, adding complexity when blended with classic Languedoc grape varieties. Each grape variety and each plot is vinified separately to favor aromatic complexity. The particularity of the Terrasses du Larzac terroir gives the wines not only great character linked to the altitude (up to 1000m) but also a very particular freshness that makes them well-balanced and complex.
“A family estate founded in 1998 on the renowned terroirs of Aniane, producing organic wines with remarkable freshness from the Terrasses du Larzac appellation.”
