About the Winery
After several experiences in different vineyards in France and abroad, Thierry Tissot, oenologist, took over in 2001 the family operation created at the end of the 19th century. Accompanied by his wife since 2015, he has renovated the cellar and replanted the Mataret hillside, long abandoned due to its fragmented and steep character. He today operates a small 5.3-hectare vineyard, certified organic since 2019. The estate produces Bugey wines from indigenous varieties including Altesse and Mondeuse, along with sparkling wines made by traditional method. The Tissots are pioneers in reviving the historic Mataret vineyard site.
