About the Winery
This 15-hectare domain was created from 1970 by Philippe de Benoist, surrounding an 18th-century château. In 2009, the winegrower was joined by his eldest son Cyril, who trained with his uncle Aubert de Villaine, co-manager of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Like the mythical Burgundy domaine, Château du Nozay is conducted organically. The estate produces Sancerre wines from Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, situated in the Sury-en-Vaux area of the Loire Valley. The property is known for its elegant, terroir-driven wines that reflect the unique chalk and limestone soils of the region.
“A 15-hectare estate surrounding an 18th-century château in Sancerre, now run by Cyril de Benoist de Gentissart, trained at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti.”
