About the Winery

This essential property (30 ha) in Grande Champagne has belonged to the Geffard family since 1840. Now with Henri retired, his children Karine and Stéphane (sixth generation) have succeeded him. They produce pineaux, cognacs, and vins de pays charentais. Located in the heart of Grande Champagne, the Premier Cru of Cognac, the family operates 30 hectares of vines, 15 on the commune of Verrières and 15 on Juillac-le-Coq. The vines are on average 40 years old, with over 90% Ugni Blanc and the rest Colombard. The distillation is done with charentais alembic stills from November to February, twenty-four hours a day. The estate offers bed and breakfast facilities and tastings by appointment Monday to Friday, Saturday on appointment.
