Sas Terra Vecchia
About the Winery
On the east coast of Corsica, in the Costa Serena region between maquis, sea, and the Diana lagoon, Terra Vecchia and Clos Poggiale form a 200-hectare vineyard. The land was already cultivated by the Romans, as recalled by the name Terra Vecchia ('Ancient Lands'). Jean-François Renucci acquired it in 2011 from the Skalli family. The domaine includes 130 hectares of IGP Île de Beauté vineyards near the Diana lagoon and 70 hectares of AOP Corse vineyards at Clos Poggiale, 3 km away. The estate emphasizes Corsican identity with two-thirds of plantings being native varieties: Vermentinu, Biancu Gentile, Sciaccarellu, and Niellucciu. Clos Poggiale is certified organic.
“A 200-hectare estate on Corsica's east coast between sea and mountains, acquired by Jean-François Renucci in 2011, producing wines from native Corsican varieties.”
