Château Monbousquet

About the Winery

Château Monbousquet is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé estate acquired in 1993 by Gérard Perse (who also owns Pavie, Pavie-Decesse, and Bellevue-Mondotte). The estate extends over 33 hectares of vines planted on beautiful sandy gravel soils particularly suited to Cabernet varieties, which represent 40% of the plantings (including 30% Cabernet Franc). The estate was elevated to Grand Cru Classé status in the 2006 Saint-Émilion classification. The property dates back to the late 16th century, and winemaking began in earnest in the 19th century. Michel Rolland serves as consulting oenologist. The wines are known for their elegance, complexity, and aging potential.
