Paul Berthelot
About the Winery
The Berthelot family has been producing champagne since the second half of the 19th century, guided by the principles of founder Émile Berthelot. Paul was the driving force from 1940 to 2000, and Jacques developed the vineyard from 1960, expanding it to 16 hectares. Today, the estate is managed by Paul's grandchildren, Arnaud and Estelle Berthelot. The domaine spans 16 hectares of Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards between Dizy, Avenay, and Aÿ, with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in roughly equal parts. The estate holds HVE (High Environmental Value) and Vegan certifications, with all wines aged a minimum of four years before release.
