Domaine Boeckel
About the Winery
The Boeckel family has been rooted in Mittelbergheim for four centuries. Frédéric Boeckel became a wine merchant in 1853, founding the estate. Today, Jean-Daniel and Thomas Boeckel, the fifth generation, manage the estate. The domaine extends over 23-26 hectares of owned vineyards in Mittelbergheim and neighboring villages (Andlau, Barr, Eichhoffen), complemented by grape purchases from an additional 12 hectares. The estate is certified organic since 2013 and produces wines from Grand Cru sites including Zotzenberg and Wiebelsberg. The Boeckel estate is known for its elegant, high-quality wines of great character, including Alsace varietal wines and Crémant d'Alsace. Annual production is approximately 250,000 bottles, with 70% exported worldwide.
