About the Winery

Domaine Gruss et Fils (also known as Vins Gruss Joseph et Fils) is a family estate founded in 1947 in Eguisheim, near Colmar in Alsace. The Gruss family has been present in Eguisheim for generations, with the modern winery operation dating to the mid-20th century. André Gruss, the winemaker, took over key roles in the estate in 1997, succeeding his father Bernard. The family estate extends over 18 hectares divided into about fifty plots on beautiful, mostly limestone terroirs. The domaine produces Alsace AOC wines, Grand Cru wines, Crémant d'Alsace, and sweet wines including Sélection de Grains Nobles and Vendanges Tardives. The estate is particularly well-known for its Crémants, having won medals at the Concours National des Crémants. The domaine practices reasoned viticulture and is a member of the Syndicat des Vignerons Indépendants d'Alsace.
