Domaine jean-marc Bernhard

21, Grand-Rue, 68230 Katzenthal France

About the Winery

Domaine Jean-Marc Bernhard is a family estate founded in 1802 in Katzenthal, west of Colmar, in the heart of the Alsatian vineyards. The estate developed a négociant business starting in 1850, but in 1982 Jean-Marc Bernhard chose to return to being a pure winegrower. The domaine now covers more than 11 hectares spread across five communes, with parcels in six Grand Crus. Frédéric Bernhard, an oenologist, has been in charge since 2000, and the estate is farmed organically. The family winery is housed in buildings dating back to the late 16th century, with cellars exclusively used for viticulture. Nine generations of the Bernhard family have served viticulture and quality wine production.
