Lucien Albrecht

6, Grand-Rue, 68420 Eguisheim France

About the Winery

Lucien Albrecht is one of the leading Alsatian wine producers with origins tracing back to 1698 when Balthazar Albrecht settled in Orschwihr, south of Colmar. The house was a pioneer in Crémant d'Alsace, beginning its first tests of these sparkling wines in 1971, which helped secure the AOC Crémant d'Alsace designation in 1976. In 2012, the historic Lucien Albrecht brand was acquired by the Wolfberger cooperative of Eguisheim. The cooperative, founded in 1902, counts 450 member winegrowers and vinifies approximately 8% of the Alsatian vineyard (about 1,200 hectares), including around fifty hectares farmed organically. The cooperative also manages 15 Grand Cru vineyards. The wines are distributed worldwide, with the Crémant d'Alsace holding the number 1 position in its category in the USA. The estate holds Agri Confiance sustainability certification and produces wines from Grand Cru sites including Pfingstberg and Spiegel.

One of Alsace's leading producers since 1698, Lucien Albrecht pioneered Crémant d'Alsace and produces wines from prestigious Grand Cru vineyards.
