Scea Leydier et Fils
About the Winery
The Domaine de Durban (SCEA Leydier et Fils) is centered around a fortified farm dating back to 1150, set against a backdrop of pine woods with panoramic views over its vast 119-hectare vineyard. The Leydier family has perpetuated an ancient winemaking tradition since 1967. The estate produces Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise (the preferred aperitif of Popes), Beaumes-de-Venise red wines including Cuvée Prestige and Vieilles Vignes, Gigondas red, Côtes du Rhône, and IGP Vaucluse wines in Rose, white, and red. The soils are composed of 60% clay and 40% Trias, with a very sunny exposure and microclimate that consistently produces great vintages. The estate has fourteen permanent employees and produces approximately 3.5 million bottles annually.
