About the Winery

Domaine Vial-Magnères is a family estate founded in 1910, located in Banyuls-sur-Mer in the Roussillon region of southern France. The domaine was created when André Magnères established the property, which later passed to Gaby Vial, and then to Bernard Sapéras in 1985. Bernard, an oenologist and chemist, gave a new impetus to the estate and the appellation, creating the first white Banyuls, pioneering rancio wines, and successfully developing Collioure whites. After Bernard's passing in 2013, his children Olivier and Chrystel Sapéras took over, supported by their cellar master Laurent Dal Zovo. In 2021, they partnered with brothers Luc and Damien Berjoan. The estate covers 12 hectares of vineyards divided into small parcels on the coastal fringe of Banyuls and Port-Vendres, planted on Cambrian schist soils. The domaine produces Banyuls (traditional, grand cru, and rancio), Collioure (red, white, and Rose), and IGP Côte Vermeille wines, with all grapes hand-harvested.
