500 route de Verzé, 71960 La Roche-Vineuse, France

About the Winery

Château de la Greffière is a historic wine estate in the Mâconnais region of southern Burgundy, with wine activity dating back to 1585. The Greuzard family has owned the estate since 1924, now in its fourth generation. The property spans 60 hectares across eight villages around La Roche-Vineuse, just 15 minutes from Mâcon. They work four Burgundy grape varieties: Chardonnay and Aligoté for whites, Pinot Noir and Gamay for reds. The estate's cuvage was built in 1789 and features a magnificent vaulted cellar that now houses a Vine and Wine Museum with over 2,000 historical tools. Currently in conversion to organic farming, the estate produces a wide range of appellations including Mâcon La Roche Vineuse, Saint-Véran, Pouilly-Fuissé, Bourgogne Aligoté, and Crémant de Bourgogne. They are one of only 40 producers in Burgundy who make Crémant entirely on their own.

Historic Burgundy estate since 1585, family-owned since 1924, producing wines across 8 villages in the Mâconnais.
