About the Winery
From an ancient Bordeaux bourgeois family that gave many magistrates and stock exchange consuls, Nicolas Barreyre founded this domaine in the 1750s. The vineyard, now directed by Claude Gaudin, extends over 16 hectares planted on Médoc palus (clay soils) in the Macau area. The estate produces Haut-Médoc wines that reflect the classic Bordeaux style, with a focus on Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
“A historic Bordeaux estate founded in the 1750s, with 16 hectares on Médoc palus soils.”
