About the Winery

Having left the Gigondas cooperative in 1992, Pierre Varenne created his own domaine by combining his vines with those of his wife Marie-Claude. In 2005, their daughter Cécile, joined by her husband Jean-Yves Perez, took over and manage an 8-hectare vineyard converted to organic agriculture. The domaine produces Gigondas wines from the classic Southern Rhône grape varieties (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre) on the terroir of Gigondas, known for its clay-limestone soils and galets roulés. The wines express the power and elegance of this prestigious Cru.
